My Story

My name is Chase, and for the past decade, I’ve been immersed in the worlds of tabletop RPGs, rolling dice, weaving stories, and guiding adventurers as a Dungeon Master for the last five years. When I was growing up I had always seen or heard media about Dungeons & Dragons, but always assumed it was an incredibly complex game full of math and rules, there was no way I could ever keep up with it. In 2015 I was invited to play with some college friends in their campaign and quickly realized the game was nothing like what I thought it would be. Even though it was a challenge at first getting into character, tracking rolls, or remembering the rules, I left those first sessions thinking “I haven’t had this much fun without a screen since I was a kid!” I was hooked.

Fast forward to 2020, after I moved back home from Portland to Seattle, I had played in several campaigns, created dozens of characters, and decided I wanted to take my love of Dungeons & Dragons further by learning how to become a Dungeon Master. I messaged some friends if they would be interested and soon enough I had a party of 5 assembled, all being new players. Things were a bit clunky at first, five new players and a new DM, but after the first few sessions, everything clicked. It was clear the group loved having this creative/collaborative outlet and I knew DMing was becoming a new passion of mine.

Now in 2025, I run one-shots for curious friends and still run for that same group. We’re almost through our 2nd full campaign, and I couldn’t be prouder of how far each of my players has come. After years of seeing how much laughter, creativity, and connection this hobby brings, I found myself thinking “I wish everyone could experience how incredible this hobby is” I began to wonder “What are the barriers to entry for this hobby?” Just like when I was growing up, people probably think the game is too complex to learn casually on their own, not knowing what the dice mean, feeling uncomfortable roleplaying, not having a group to play with, or feeling like they are slowing the game down. That is when I decided to come up with a solution, Chase Your Quest.

I not only want to be a Dungeon Master, I want to be a guide, helping others discover the magic of this hobby for themselves. I want to tear down the barrier to entry by explaining the rules in a fun and engaging way, supplying all of the materials, and crafting a welcoming community built on curiosity, empathy, and understanding.
